ETIAS Travel Authorization for Tuvaluan Citizens
Tuvalu is now a part of the ETIAS Visa Waiver program in the European Union. This allows Tuvaluan tourists to visit Europe for short-term trips without needing visas.
This visa-free status permits Tuvaluans to enter Europe by presenting their passport upon arrival.
• Commerce
• Leisure
• Travel
• Healthcare
• Transport
This visa exemption will not mean you must have an additional travel document before the end of 2025. All visa-exempt citizens, including Tuvaluans, must have an ETIAS travel authorization by the end of 2025.
EU is implementing ETIAS to ensure the safety and security of the Schengen Zone Borders.
ETIAS Visa Waiver Recommendations
Tuvaluan nationals are advised to review the data in their ETIAS Application carefully.
• The full name and birth date of the citizen coincide precisely with how they appear on the Tuvaluan passport
• The applicant's passport data, expiration date, and passport number are the same as those printed on it.
• To ensure they receive correct notifications about their ETIAS application, the citizen's email address must not contain any typographical errors
The data processing starts only after the application is completed and the fee has been processed.

The automatic revision of ETIAS data includes screening against multiple international databases like SIS, VIS, and EURODAC. Most Tuvaluan ETIAS Applications will be automatically approved within 24 hours. In rare cases, however, the Tuvaluan applicant may be hit by one or more security databases queried during screening. This could lead to the need for manual revisions of citizens' personal information and an ETIAS request. The processing time for an ETIAS from Tuvalu may be extended by manual revision. Travelers are advised to apply for travel authorization at least three business days before their travel dates.
ETIAS Requirements for Tuvaluan Travelers
To be able to complete the ETIAS online form successfully, Tuvaluan citizens will need the following:
• A passport that is readable by a machine and is valid for the following 6 months from the arrival in the Schengen Zone country.
• A Tuvaluan citizen can access an email address to obtain a digital copy once the document has been approved
• An online payment option that allows you to pay the ETIAS fees from Tuvalu.
After the Tuvaluan passport holder has completed the ETIAS requirements, they can complete the visa waiver application at their home or workplace. Any location with an internet connection can fill out the ETIAS application for Tuvalu citizens.
