ETIAS Travel Authorization for Taiwanese Citizens
When the new European travel visa waiver, known as ETIAS, becomes effective, citizens from Taiwan will need to apply for an ETIAS Visa Waiver for Taiwanese. To improve security in the region, the ETIAS is being implemented by the European Union.
Currently, citizens of 62 countries can travel to the Schengen Area without a visa. These citizens must apply for travel authorization once ETIAS is in place. The EU will then be able to identify potential threats to Europe by using this method. It is expected that most applications can be processed within minutes. This will allow third-country nationals
to enter the Schengen Zone freely. Security has been a top priority for the EU in recent years. The EU’s border management is vital. European member countries collaborate to develop policies and regulations that will protect their shared external borders.
ETIAS allows its holders to travel to any country within the Schengen Area. It is made up of 26 member states. There are 22 member countries, including France, Spain, France, and Poland. The Schengen Agreement includes 4-non EU members: Norway, Iceland, and Switzerland.

ETIAS Visa Waiver: Taiwanese Citizens for Travel to Europe
ETIAS, the Europe visa exemption for Taiwan citizens, will allow the individual to access the European Schengen Area once the relevant entity approves it. It is a Multiple-Entry Visa Waiver. This means Taiwanese citizens with a valid ETIAS can travel to Europe for as little as 90 days.
The ETIAS visa waiver can be used for three consecutive years or until the traveler’s passport expires. After the visa waiver or passport expires, Taiwanese citizens must apply for an ETIAS renewal, complete the application and pay the ETIAS fees. Then, they will be able to travel to Europe again.
What are the Taiwanese People required to Do when Traveling to Europe?
It is straightforward to meet the ETIAS requirements of Taiwanese citizens. When applying online for an EU visa waiver, all Taiwanese citizens must present a valid Taiwanese pass, email address, and a credit or debit card authorized to make online payments. Any applicant who fails to supply basic ETIAS requirements will be denied the EU visa waiver for Taiwan citizens. They will also not be permitted to travel to European Schengen Zone countries. When applying, the individual’s passport must still be valid. ETIAS will electronically link to the passport of the traveler. The traveler must have the same passport for the ETIAS application as when traveling to Europe. All travelers to Taiwan must complete the online ETIAS form and then pay the visa waiver fee via the digital payment system.

What Do you need to know to apply for the ETIAS Visa Waiver Application for Taiwanese Citizens
Tourists from Taiwan to Europe must apply online for an ETIAS travel permit. To get an ETIAS, each applicant must fill out the below details:
• Basic information such as name, surname, and birth date.
• Passport details like passport number, expiration date, country of issue, etc.
You will need to answer security questions regarding your health, criminal history, and whether you have been to conflict areas in the past.
Taiwanese tourists are encouraged to double-check their applications for accuracy. Application errors can hurt your application. It would help if you answered security questions with honesty. ETIAS will cross-check applicants’ data with multiple security databases. Therefore, it will be easy to identify if someone has lied in their application.
The European visa waiver for Taiwanese citizens will confirm for most applicants within hours of submission and reduce complications at border and immigration control.
The ETIAS visa waiver aims to improve and secure Europe’s borders. Before a traveler can travel to Europe, the ETIAS system will prescreen them. The information provided by each traveler will then be compared against several European and international security databases, such as Interpol, Europol, and ETIAS Watchlist.
ELISA, the European Agency for the Operational Management of Large Scale IT Systems is currently developing ETIAS. This agency, which was founded in 2011, manages large-scale integrated IT networks that:
• In the Schengen countries, ensure internal security
• Allow Schengen country’s visa data to be exchanged
• Find out which EU country is responsible for examining an asylum request
The Visa Information System, EURODAC, and the second generation Schengen Information System are two systems that contribute to Europe’s security. Schengen countries already exchange information about foreign visitors. ETIAS will not be any different. It is designed to cross-check applicants’ data.
