ETIAS Travel Authorization for Solomon Islanders
Travelers from the Solomon Islands can visit Europe until late 2025 without applying for a visa. Because of the visa waiver agreements between Europe and their country, they can present their Solomon Islands passport to gain entry into the European Union.
All travelers from countries that have granted visa exemptions, including those from the Solomon Islands, must register online for ETIAS by 2025 before traveling to the European Schengen nations. This applies to France, Spain, and Germany as well as Italy, Greece, Germany, and Switzerland. Since 2016, the European Union has been working on it. The European Union is currently developing it. The ETIAS forms part of an integrated EU intelligence agency, including the Entry-Exit System and
Passenger Name Records (PNR). The European Union is seamlessly integrating these systems. The ETIAS will be fully in force by 2025. After the implementation, the HTMLIAS will be a mandatory entry document for all Solomon Islanders who visit Europe for short trips for up to 90 days or for any other purposes.

How Long does it take to process the ETIAS Application
After the Solomon Islander national has submitted their ETIAS Form and the payment has been made, the automatic ETIAS revision will start.
The data of citizens will be cross-checked with multiple international security databases, such as Interpol, Europol, VIS, SIS, and Eurodac.
Most ETIAS requests from the Solomon Islands will be approved within 24 hours.
A small number of requests might be screened against the databases. This would mean that a manual revision by Frontex or a national authority may be necessary. This would prolong the processing time for the ETIAS from the Solomon Islands by up to 3 days.
It is a good practice for Solomon Islanders to apply for an ETIAS visa waiver to Europe at least three business days before their intended departure date towards a Schengen country. After the ETIAS application processing has been completed, applicants will receive an email notification to the address provided in their form.
The email will include a digital copy of the approved ETIAS travel permit for Solomon Islanders if the visa waiver is granted.
An email with the reasons for refusing the ETIAS authorization will be sent to applicants from the Solomon Islands. If a Solomon Islands applicant receives a notice denying ETIAS travel authorization, they will be given instructions on how to appeal that decision.
The citizen can appeal in this instance by following the instructions they received by email. The ETIAS appeal process can take up to four weeks. However, it will likely occur in less than 1-2% of visa waiver applications.
If the ETIAS is denied once more, the Solomon Islander National would still be able to apply for a Schengen visa via a European Embassy in the country they first want to enter.
