ETIAS Travel Authorization for Georgians
Citizens of Georgia can travel to Schengen Area countries by presenting their passports at the border. As with all citizens of the 60 countries that have signed visa waiver agreements with the European Union, Georgians will travel without a visa until 2025.
ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. Georgians visiting Schengen countries for business, tourism, or transit purposes must obtain a travel authorization for Europe. They can stay for up to 90 days within Schengen borders. The ETIAS travel authorization is expected to be fully in force by the end
of 2025. Georgians will keep their visa waiver status. Since 2016, the European Union has approved the ETIAS visa waiver. ETIAS was created to improve security in the Schengen Area. It pre-screens visa-exempt visitors before they leave. Visitors from Georgia and other countries will benefit as well as residents of the European Union. ETIAS isn’t a visa and requires no visit to an embassy or consulate to obtain it.

Traveling from Georgia to Europe
Georgians will be able to use the ETIAS multiple entry travel authorization.
• All Schengen member countries eligible for entry
• No restrictions on movement within Schengen borders
• Maximum 90-day stays per 180-day period
• Tourism, leisure, business, and transit are all possible reasons to travel.
The ETIAS visa waiver can be digitally linked to the submitted passport once it is approved. The travel authorization will be valid for 3 years from the date it was issued as long as the passport is still good.
If the Georgian citizen’s passport expires before the visa waiver’s 3-year validity runs out, the travel authorization is null, and the traveler must apply for a new ETIAS.
You can easily apply online for the new ETIAS using the same form and the unique Georgian passport number. ETIAS applications are usually approved and screened within 24 hours. Some visa waiver requests can take up to three business days to process.
It is recommended that Georgian citizens apply for an ETIAS visa waiver no later than three business days before their departure date towards the Schengen Area. The ETIAS visa waiver can only be used with one passport. This is particularly important for Georgian citizens with dual citizenship. They must choose which passport they want to travel on.
Georgian citizens who have more than one passport must ensure that they travel with the same passport to apply for the ETIAS visa waiver.
